Pharmacies in Qatar: Main Chains and 24-Hour Options

Finding a pharmacy in Qatar, including one open late at night, is straightforward once you know the main chains. This guide covers the well-known ones. We checked each chain's own site in September 2026.

Main pharmacy chains

Finding a 24-hour pharmacy: use the official locator

Not every branch of a chain is open 24 hours, and branches open and close over time, so the most reliable tool is the Ministry of Public Health's own Find Pharmacy service on Hukoomi. Hukoomi describes it as an updated online directory with the contact number, location, and map directions for each pharmacy, including pharmacies operating 24/7. It is free.

1. Open the Find Pharmacy in Qatar service.

2. Select your area.

3. Tick the Always Open box if you need a 24/7 pharmacy.

4. Click Search.

Hukoomi notes that if you select no area, the directory shows every pharmacy regardless of location. Kulud's Azghawa location inside an Al Meera Complex is reported to be open 24 hours, 7 days a week, but the ministry directory is the better check before a late-night trip. In a medical emergency, do not look for a pharmacy. Call 999.

Getting hospital medicines delivered

If your medicines were prescribed by a Hamad Medical Corporation hospital, Hukoomi describes an HMC pharmacy delivery service, run with Qatar Post, that brings them to your home. To use it:

• Your health card must be valid. If it has expired, see our guide to renewing an expired health card first.
• Call the Qatar Health Care Unified Contact Center on 16000, choose HMC's Medical Services, then HMC's Pharmacy Delivery.
• Give your house number, zone, and street.
• On delivery, sign the receipt, make sure the package is stamped, and check the name and health card number on the package.

Hukoomi lists HMC working hours as 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Saturday to Thursday. Fees depend on the medicine price and whether you are a citizen or resident, and some medicines are not approved for delivery, in which case you collect them from a pharmacy. Choosing between a chain, a hospital pharmacy, and delivery

This is our own practical view, not an official ranking. A chain pharmacy suits over-the-counter items and a convenient location. The ministry directory suits any late-night need. HMC delivery suits regular prescriptions for HMC patients who cannot easily travel, provided your health card is valid and the medicine is approved for delivery.

Common mistakes

• Driving to a chain branch late at night without checking it is open, when the ministry's Always Open filter shows 24/7 pharmacies.
• Requesting HMC delivery with an expired health card, which the service does not allow.
• Assuming every prescribed medicine can be delivered, when Hukoomi says some are not approved.
• Calling the delivery line outside its listed hours.

What we could not verify

• Current opening hours for any specific branch.
• Current branch counts, since chains expand and close locations over time.
• Whether any private pharmacy chain offers delivery, and current delivery times.
• Which medicines are excluded from HMC delivery, since Hukoomi does not list them.
