Police Jobs in Qatar: Who Can Apply and the Only Official Route

How Ministry of Interior jobs are actually advertised, why many police job pages online are unreliable, and how to avoid paying a fee for a job that is free to apply for.

Police Jobs in Qatar: Who Can Apply and the Only Official Route
Quick answer
The official route to a Ministry of Interior job is the MOI recruitment system linked from Hukoomi. Hukoomi says applying is free and needs a registered account. When we checked in September 2026, the system listed nine vacancies, all typed as specialized jobs. We could not confirm from any official page whether non-Qataris can join the police, and many websites that claim to know are unofficial.

Search results for police jobs in Qatar are full of guides aimed at applicants abroad, often promising an easy online application. We could not find those claims on an official page. This guide tells you what the Ministry of Interior itself says, what we could not confirm, and how to avoid being charged for something free. We read Hukoomi's service page and the MOI recruitment system in September 2026.

The official application route

Hukoomi's service page for applying for a job at the Ministry of Interior says the ministry is pleased to receive job applications from qualified, experienced professionals for its departments. It describes these steps:

1. Search the list of available jobs, or narrow it by vacancy type or by typing the vacancy title, then click Search.

2. Click the vacancy you want and read the job description.

3. Click Apply Now, then log in.

4. Fill in the required information and submit.

The page says you need a registered account in the career application system, and that no fees are required.

What the recruitment system showed

We opened the MOI recruitment system on 29 September 2026. It listed 9 vacancies across two pages. The five on the first page were all typed in Arabic as specialized jobs, with a start date of 22 January 2026 and a closing date of 31 December 2026. The vacancy titles did not display in the text we could read, so we cannot tell you which roles they were. Open the system yourself to see the current list, because it changes.

Can non-Qataris apply?

We could not confirm this from an official page. Hukoomi's page does not state nationality requirements, and neither did the recruitment system page we could read. Several websites say most police positions are reserved for Qatari nationals, and others give a list of age, height, and education requirements. Those sources disagree with each other, for example on the age range, and none is an official page, so we do not repeat their figures. Requirements are set per vacancy, so read the description on the vacancy itself.

Police jobs versus other Ministry of Interior jobs

The vacancies on the official system are for the Ministry of Interior generally, not only for uniformed police roles. A vacancy for a specialized professional job, such as a technical or administrative role, is different from joining the police force as an officer. If a page promises a police officer job for people abroad, treat it with caution until you see the vacancy on the official system.

How to avoid scams

This is our own practical advice.

  • Hukoomi says the application is free. Never pay a fee to apply, to be shortlisted, or to get an interview.
  • Use only the recruitment system linked from Hukoomi, not a link from a social media page or a message.
  • Be suspicious of any offer that skips the vacancy listing, guarantees selection, or asks for money or your passport photo in advance.
  • Do not share your login or your one-time codes with anyone.

If you suspect fraud, see our guide to filing a police report in Qatar.

If you are aiming for other government work

Many government bodies advertise through their own portals. See our guide to government jobs in Qatar for expats. For the wider job market, see our guides to finding a job in Qatar and industries hiring in Qatar.

Documents you may need later

This is general guidance, not a list from the ministry. Employers in Qatar commonly ask for a clean criminal record certificate. Our guide to a police clearance certificate explains how residents get one. What each vacancy requires is set in its own description.

Common mistakes

  • Paying an agent or a website for a police job application that is free.
  • Trusting a guide that lists exact age and height limits without checking the vacancy itself.
  • Assuming a vacancy for a specialized professional role means police officer recruitment.
  • Applying through a link from a message rather than through the official system.

What we could not verify

  • Whether non-Qataris can apply to police officer roles.
  • The age, height, and education requirements for any police role.
  • The titles of the nine vacancies listed when we checked.
  • How long the selection process takes.

Frequently asked questions

Through the Ministry of Interior's recruitment system linked from Hukoomi: search vacancies, open one, click Apply Now, log in with a registered account, and submit.

Is there a fee to apply for a Ministry of Interior job?+

No. Hukoomi states that no fees are required. Never pay to apply.
