Qatar National Address Not Updated? How to Check and Fix It
Quick answer
To fix a wrong national address, open Metrash, choose National Address, enter the details, confirm they are correct, and tap Done. To check what is registered, use Hukoomi's My Address service, which searches by street, zone, or building number. The Ministry of Interior says failing to register or update the address is a violation.

Your national address is used by several services, so a wrong or missing one can slow down other paperwork. This guide explains how to look yours up, how to update it, and how to get a certificate. The lookup and certificate steps come from Hukoomi. The update steps come from a February 2026 news report, since we could not read the Ministry's own page, so confirm them in the app.

What the national address is used for

Hukoomi says many services need the exact location of the applicant, including services from the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders and Expatriates Affairs, the Traffic Department, and the National Command Centre, especially the emergency line 999. In 2020, the Ministry of Interior said registration is a mandatory legal step and would be required to complete transactions.

How to check your address

Hukoomi's My Address service lets nationals and residents look up their residence, building, and area online, using any of these:

  • Street name
  • Electricity number
  • Zone name
  • Neighborhood name
  • Coordinates
  • Building number

Enter one of them and select Search. Hukoomi says no fee is required. Use this to see whether the location you expect exists, and to find your building details before you register.

How to update it in Metrash

The Peninsula reported on 23 February 2026 that the Ministry of Interior's Metrash app lets you register or update the address in four steps:

1. Open the app and select National Address on the home screen.

2. Enter the required details.

3. Confirm the information is accurate.

4. Tap Done.

The report says children under 18 share their parent's address, and that neglecting to register or update it is a violation that may lead to legal accountability. It did not list the fields, deadlines, or contact details, so follow what the app shows. Metrash needs your registered account, so if login fails, see our guide to Metrash not working.

How to get an address certificate

Hukoomi says the certificate is available through the Metrash app in Arabic and English. The steps are:

  • Log in to Metrash.
  • Select Certificates, then National Address Certificate, then Continue.
  • Choose the contents and the language, and check the email before selecting Next.
  • Choose the payment method and pay.

Hukoomi lists a fee of QAR 10, and lists the Ministry of Interior Public Relations Department on 2367111 for more information. Fees can change, so confirm the amount at payment.

Why the address may look wrong

The sources do not list causes, so these are practical possibilities and not official reasons.

  • You moved and have not updated it.
  • The address was never registered.
  • A detail was entered incorrectly, such as a zone or a building number.
  • The address in another document, such as your QID, was set at a different time. See our guide to everything about the Qatar ID if the ID details look outdated.

If it still looks wrong

  • Check the address with My Address, and save a screenshot.
  • Try the update again in Metrash, and keep any confirmation.
  • Contact the Ministry of Interior on 2367111, the number Hukoomi lists on its Metrash pages.
  • If the Hukoomi portal itself is the problem, see our guide to Hukoomi login and account problems and the Hukoomi support ticket.

Common mistakes

  • Registering an old or workplace address as your home address.
  • Skipping the update after a move.
  • Entering a building number that does not match the zone.
  • Relying on a certificate you downloaded before you moved.

What we could not verify

  • The Ministry's own current page for the update service, which we could not open.
  • Any deadline or fee for updating the address.
  • How long an update takes to show in other systems.
  • Penalty amounts for failing to register.
