Qatar Visa Check by Passport Number: How to Verify a Work Visa Before You Travel
The Pakistan Embassy in Doha says an issued Qatar visa can be verified on the Ministry of Interior portal with the visa number or passport number. What that check shows, what it does not prove, and what to do if nothing comes up.
"Qatar visa check by passport number" is one of the most searched visa phrases for Qatar. Many websites claim to offer it, some of them only to collect your passport details. This guide uses the one official statement we could find: the Pakistan Embassy in Doha's FAQ. The Ministry of Interior portal rejected our request, so we cannot describe its screens or the exact service name. Use the Ministry's own website, not a search-result copy.
What the official statement says
Question 10 of the Pakistan Embassy's FAQ asks how to enquire about the authentication of an issued visa in Qatar. The answer says issued visas can be verified online by giving the visa number or passport number to the Ministry of Interior, at portal.moi.gov.qa. It gives no further steps.
How to use it
1. Ask your employer or agent for the visa number, the visa approval tracking number if they have one, and your name as written in your passport.
2. Open the Ministry of Interior website yourself by typing the address. Do not click a link sent in a message.
3. Find the visa inquiry service and enter the visa number or the passport number.
4. Compare the result with your offer. Names, passport number, visa type and employer should match.
5. Save a screenshot with the date.
If the service asks for a payment, a password or your bank details, stop. A visa check should not need them.
What a valid result does not prove

If nothing comes up
- Check the number for typing errors, and try the passport number if you used the visa number.
- Ask the employer for the visa approval tracking number, and ask whether the visa has been issued yet. Some stages happen before the visa exists. The Pakistan Embassy FAQ says the Qatar Visa Centre asks the employer to apply after the medical and biometrics.
- Do not pay anyone for "urgent processing" or a "visa clearance".
