Pay MOI Financial Claims on Metrash: Fees, Fines and Travel Tickets
Quick answer
The Ministry of Interior lets people pay financial claims, meaning fees, fines and travel ticket costs, through its website and the Metrash app. Qatar News Agency reported the steps on 4 April: open the Security window, choose Financial Claims, pick Personal or Establishment, select the payment due, tap Records and pay. A 2025 report suggests the service existed earlier.

Many residents only learn they owe the ministry money when something stops them at the airport or blocks a renewal. A direct payment service for those debts is useful, and it was announced by the Ministry of Interior in April 2026. This guide explains what the service is, how to use it and what it does and does not say. We used the QNA report, Qatar Tribune, a Marhaba article and a Qatar Living overview of 2026 government services. We could not log in to Metrash, so we describe the steps as announced. It is general information, not legal advice.

What is the financial claims service?

According to QNA, the Search and Follow-up Department of the General Directorate of Passports launched an electronic service for paying financial claims through the Ministry of Interior website and the Metrash app. Qatar Tribune said it lets users pay fees, fines and travel ticket prices. Qatar Living lists it among the digital services added in 2026. A Marhaba article dated August 2025 already described a financial claims payment service, so the April 2026 coverage may be a re-announcement or a move to the redesigned app. The sources do not say which.

How to pay, step by step

1. Open the Metrash app, or log in to the Ministry of Interior website.

2. Go to the Security window.

3. Tap Financial Claims.

4. Choose Personal or Establishment. Choose Establishment if you are paying for a company.

5. Select the payment that is due: a fee, a fine or a ticket.

6. Tap Records to see the amount.

7. Pay the required amount directly.

Keep the receipt. If the app does not show your claim, do not assume you owe nothing. See what to do when Metrash is not working, and check your status through the ministry's other channels.

What kinds of claims are there?

The announcement lists three: fees, fines and travel ticket costs. It does not say which cases create a ticket claim, or which department's fines appear, and it does not publish amounts. We will not guess. If you do not recognize a charge, ask the ministry before paying. Traffic fines are a separate list: see checking and paying traffic fines.

Why this matters before you travel

Unpaid government debts can cause trouble at exit. Check for a block early with our guide on how to check a travel ban in Qatar. If you overstayed a visa or a residence permit, read the overstay fine calculator and what happens after a residence permit is cancelled.

Personal or Establishment?

The Personal option is for your own claims. Establishment is for a company or institution. A PRO who handles government payments for an employer should use Establishment, with the company's login. If you run a business, our business setup guide explains why its records need regular checks.

Tips for staying out of trouble

  • Check Metrash for fines and claims before you book a flight.
  • Keep receipts for every payment.
  • Use only the Metrash app and the ministry website. Do not pay through a link sent in a message.
  • Do not give your QID login to an agent unless you trust them.
  • If a claim looks wrong, ask the ministry to explain it before you pay.

Other 2026 changes on Metrash

Qatar Living's overview for October 2026 also lists traffic services in Metrash growing to 85 by May 2026, Qatar Visa Center contract steps for employers, a 20% reduction on an eligible three year residence permit renewal and a way to help a spouse or child activate the app without their own Qatar mobile number. See renewing a residence permit on Metrash and sponsored family members on Metrash.

What we could not verify

  • The service inside Metrash, since we could not sign in.
  • Which cases lead to a claim and what the amounts are.
  • Whether the service existed before April 2026.
  • Whether payment can be made for another person.
