Official Government Apps in Qatar: Metrash, Nar'aakom, Oun and More
The official apps and platforms behind everyday services in Qatar, what each one is for according to Hukoomi and the ministries, and how to avoid fake apps.

New residents quickly find that services are spread across many apps. This guide lists the official ones we found named on Hukoomi and ministry pages in September 2026, and says what each is used for. It is not a complete directory, and apps change names, so use each ministry's own site to confirm the current app.
The apps at a glance
| App or platform | Run by | Used for, per official pages |
|---|---|---|
| Metrash | Ministry of Interior | Traffic fines, driving license reissue, residency services, complaints |
| Nar'aakom | Primary Health Care Corporation | Applying for and renewing the health card, checking application status |
| Oun | Ministry of Municipality | Requesting pest control |
| Hayya | Hayya platform | Applying for tourist and GCC-related visas |
| SAK | Ministry of Justice | Completing contract authentication transactions |
| Kahramaa app | Kahramaa | Viewing and paying electricity and water bills |
Metrash
Metrash is the Ministry of Interior's app. Hukoomi's pages list many services as also available through it, including viewing and paying traffic violations, reissuing a lost or damaged driving license, renewing residence permits, applying for a new driving license, and filing a criminal complaint. You log in with your QID number and password. See our guides to traffic fines, a lost driving license, and Metrash problems.
Nar'aakom
PHCC's health card page says to apply for a health card by downloading the Nar'aakom mobile app, and it offers options to check your application status and to request renewal. See our guides to the healthcare system and renewing a health card.
Oun
Hukoomi's Ministry of Municipality pest control page says the service can be requested through the Oun mobile app, Tawtheeq login, or the Unified Call Center on 184. See our guide to pest control in Qatar.
Hayya
Hukoomi says a user can apply for different kinds of visas via the Hayya platform, including the tourist visa and GCC-related visas, by choosing their nationality, answering questions, creating an account, and uploading documents. Hayya's support number listed on Hukoomi is 2022 in Qatar. See our guide to Qatar visa types.
SAK
Hukoomi's page on authenticating a property rental contract says a transaction can be completed at a Ministry of Justice single-window branch or through the SAK mobile app. See our guide to renting an apartment in Qatar.
Kahramaa
Kahramaa has its own mobile app for viewing and paying electricity and water bills. See our guide to Kahramaa accounts and bill payment.
Consumer complaints
The Peninsula reported in January 2025 that the Ministry of Commerce and Industry's app has a Complaints Service. We did not verify the app's current name, so check the ministry's site. See our guide to a store refusing a refund.
Logging in: Tawtheeq
Several Hukoomi service pages say to log in with the National Authentication System, known as Tawtheeq. It is a login, not a separate service, and it is used across ministries. If you cannot register or log in, see our guide to Hukoomi registration problems.

Staying safe
This is our own practical advice.
- Get apps from the links on the ministry's or Hukoomi's own pages, or search the official app store listing for the ministry's name.
- Never share one-time passwords or your QID password with anyone, including people claiming to be from a ministry.
- Reports say the older Metrash2 app was discontinued, and our Metrash guide covers this, so use the current Metrash from the ministry's own links.
- No official government service in the pages we read charged a fee for using the app itself, but individual services have their own fees.
Common mistakes
- Using an unofficial app or website that asks for your QID password.
- Assuming one app covers all services.
- Paying a third party to use a service that is free on the ministry's own app.
What we could not verify
- The full list of official government apps, and their current names.
- The official Ministry of Commerce and Industry app name.
- Which app stores list each app in Qatar.
